Below is information relating to some of the common ways in which a Notaries services are required. Click on one of the links below to jump to that section.
What is Notarization?
Notarization is the process whereby a Notary certifies a document. The notarial certificate contains statements of fact or law in relation to the document being certified. Our Notaries often issue certificates in the language of the county where the document is being notarized.
What is a signing agent?
A signing agent is a public notary who has taking an extra course on loan closing documents. A lender, title company, or escrow service may hire a signing agent to handle getting documents delivered, signed, or processed efficiently and on time. Our notaries are certified signing agents and have been background screened.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes, although we are sometimes able to accommodate walk-in clients it is preferable to book an appointment in advance in order to ensure a Notary will be available to see you. This also allows us to ensure we have all the necessary documents in advance and that the appointment is as brief as possible for you.
Why do I need to bring proof of identity and proof of address?
One of the Notary’s fundamental duties is to properly identify his or her client. This requirement is laid down by our practice rules and legislation.
How much will it cost?
This will depend on the location we travel to and the quantity of documents being notarized. Our notaries will be happy to discuss this with you prior to your appointment (please note it will be a quote and will confirmation will come after the notary sees the documents).
Where do you provide your services?
We will come to you at a place that is convenient for you. This can be your home or office, a restaurant, or even a nursing home, hospital, or federal, state or county correctional facility. If you prefer to come to our La Jolla office during business hours, this can be arranged by appointment. La Jolla Mobile Notary Services specializes in providing the prompt and convenient attention that lets us focus on our client.
What documents do you notarize?
La Jolla Notary offers a full range of Notarial Services anything that requires a notary we can notarize the document.
Do you notarize on weekends?
Yes, we provide La Jolla Area mobile notary and apostille service on weekend afternoons and early evening (both Saturday and Sunday)…and even most holidays. La Jolla Mobile Notary offices are not open on weekends apostille processing, but we can get things started by having a La Jolla Mobile Notary meet you during the weekend or receiving the documents by FedEx on a Saturday.

What Other Services Do You Offer?

How Much Do You Charge For Your Services?
Our fees vary based on what service(s) you require as well as your location and availability of our notaries/service providers in your area. Please fill out an online request or call (858)224-2519 for a free estimate.
How Soon Can You Get Here?
In order to better serve you, we request that all appointments be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. We will, however, make every attempt to fulfill “same-day”, “last minute” and “emergency” requests. Appointments are based on availability of the Notary.
What Area(S) Do You Cover?
We cover All of San Diego. We are located in La Jolla but have other notaries throughout San Diego County.
Why Are Documents Notarized?
To put it simply a Notary Public’s main purpose is to deter fraud. As an impartial witness, the Notary ensures that the signers of documents are who they say they are and not impostors. The Notary also makes sure that signers have entered into agreements knowingly and willingly.
What Are Your Terms And Policies?
At least 24 hours advanced notice required whenever possible.
Advanced payment required for same-day appointments.
No Cancellations/Refunds for same-day appointments.
Signings in remote areas and under extreme circumstances (rush jobs, long waiting, inclement weather, long distances, etc…) may result in additional fees.
Errors & Omissions caused by our notaries will be corrected at free of charge.
Cancellations should be made via email or phone no later than 4 hours prior to the scheduled appointment. This does not apply to same-day appointments.
